Canadian National runs a rail yard along Snow Road, Mt. Hope Highway and Lansing Road that mostly handles car, coal, grain and lumber loads, and both EATRAN and CATA run buses in the township. The Waverly area is home to the Lansing Mall and Waverly Community Schools, and a large part of the township is in the Grand Ledge school district.
